Gingeredtea's Merino Wool: Cold Weather Play

Merino Wool Baselayers

Designed to be directly against the skin, base layers are an important piece of clothing for the cold weather adventurer. They let wool wick moisture away from the skin and regulate temperature. They can also double as pajamas (making getting dressed for forest or nature school the next day even faster!) and make comfy clothes to play around in.

Zip Off to Play(suit)!

Meant to replace polyester fleece or button down wool suits - Gingeredtea's Zip Off to Play(suits), come in a variety of weights to suit your weather. Single layers of our mid-weight merino wool interlock, double layer of our mid-weight wool interlock, or our mid-weight wool interlock outer combined with a high-loft heavy-weight wool interlock. These suits can be worn as an outer layer or combined with your existing rainsuit to create a natural fiber waterproof snowsuit. The centered zipper means you can tuck this suit into your rain suit and put it on as one piece (just two zippers). The fact they are separate means you can take off the muddy rainsuit right after play without having to worry about being exposed to the cold. So easy to get on and off, even my 2.5 year old did it independently!

Explorer Jacket

Meant to replace polyester fleece or button down wool jackets - Gingeredtea's Explorer Jackets, come in two weights to suit your weather. Double layer of our mid-weight wool interlock or our mid-weight wool interlock outer combined with a high-loft heavy-weight wool interlock inner.

Mittens

Wool keeps sheep happy in all weather - and it's temperature regulating qualities also work on you! Wool can absorb up to thirty percent of it's weight in moisture and not feel wet - and even soaked, it still keeps you warm! Perfect for little hands that want range of movement without bulk but still need their hands warm. Our mittens are lined - meaning they are double the layer of wool and have no exposed seams in the thumb or finger area (there is one serged seam at the cuff).
