Got wool that needs repairs? We've got patches! Easy repairs - designs you'll adore.

You count on your wool to keep you going through all your everyday extraordinary adventures - snags, stains, or holes are only to be expected when you play hard and follow your inner explorer. Rejoice in the evidence of your adventures by adding a patch. Celebrate  hand-me-downs and add something special that makes it just yours!

Patch it Up sets will come in a variety of pack sizes - some more suitable for big knee patches, some better to revive a stained hoodie or the tree-climbing snag. I do the detail sewing - you simply stitch around them onto your item - by hand or machine. They are priced based on design complexity, thread color changes, and wool usage. All patches are cut/assembled by hand and sewn on a traditional sewing machine. We dye all our wool using quality acid dyes that are safe for children's garments and free of heavy metals.

EXPERIENCE LEVELS:

Beginner: an appliqué I have sewn onto a square or round backing. Requires a basic knowledge of hand or machine sewing or a willingness to give it a try. Simple and even a fun repair experience for young kids!

Confident/Patient Beginner: requires a basic comfort with hand or machine stitching. Opens up possibilities for matching thread colors if desired to pieces. For hand sewing you should be able to gauge your stitch size to the piece (be able to make small stitches, move around corners, etc.). You CAN do this as a beginner - just take it slow and have patience with yourself.

Experienced: sets like this are for those who are experienced with detail stitching and confident in what stitches will be needed to secure small pieces.

Washing: After they are attached to your wool item, they should be cared for using wool safe detergents - local minerals, ph levels, etc. of your water will determine what detergents and methods you find washes your wool best.

The patches are backed with a temporary adhesive that is activated by an iron - if you do not know if you can iron your item, you can use a school glue stick on the back of the patch and press it onto your garment as it dries to have the same effect. This will hold your patch steady while you sew (make sure the glue has dried before trying to sew, otherwise the glue my gum up your needle). If using an iron make sure your iron is clean (or has a barrier fabric between it and your patch) and is set to dry heat.
